Assassin's Creed 2022 Set During The Hundred Years' War, According to an Insider

Where will the Assassin's Creed series take us next? The long-running Ubisoft franchise has taken us to so many times, centuries and places over the past years and when - the next game will whisk players off to has become a strong topic on gaming community and internet.

One of the more prevalent rumours currently floating around is that the 2022 Assassin's Creed will deliver a medieval China setting, but a number of clues seemingly dropped by a prominent leaker point towards a different time and place entirely.

Assassin's Creed 2022 Set During The Hundred Years' War, According to an Insider

As spotted by PerformerRelevant465 on Reddit, video game YouTuber and reliable Assassin's Creed leaker xj0nathan recently dropped a new video with a number of cryptic symbols and hints for viewers to decipher as he dove into some of the more recent rumours regarding Assassin's Creed 2022.

In the video, fans spotted things like a Templar Cross and binary code that translates to 2022. Users also noticed GPS coordinates leading to Dubrovnik, Croatia and Schleswig Holstein in Germany, as well as a colour-coded clue pointing towards the blue, white, and red of the French flag.

"I managed to decipher your code," reads one comment underneath the leaker's video. "The #'s are actually colors that make the colors Blue, White and Red. With the binary code of your leak you marked 2022; the year of the next game The kind of small map is in fact the north-east of France in the Lorraine region which borders Germany and France. With the geographical coordinate, he is in Sofia, Bulgaria (place where the next game will be made)."

That's a fair bit of information to take in, but a lot of fans seem to agree it points to one specific period in history: the Hundred Years' War. This conflict was, as the name suggests, an incredibly long and brutal clash between England and France that took place across Western Europe over succession to the French throne. The whole story affair lasted from 1337 to 1453, so it would probably be more accurate to call it the 116-year war.

Although, this isn't the first time we've heard rumours of the next Assassin's Creed heading to medieval Europe. Earlier this year reports surfaced that the new game's working title is Assassin's Creed Champions, and that it'll be announced later this year and released at some point in 2022. xj0nothan had also suggested around this time that the rest of 2021 will be dedicated to Assassin's Creed Valhalla and its two major expansions, but that Ubisoft Sofia (as mentioned above) is leading development on the new game with support from other studios within the company.

Watch Dogs: Legion Online Multiplayer Moved to 2021

Ubisoft Toronto has officially confirmed that the online multiplayer update for Watch Dogs: Legion has been moved to early 2021.

Previously, the update was set to go live on December 3. However, due to a desire to resolve issues with the game's single-player story mode, the difficult decision was made to postpone its debut. Publisher Ubisoft took to the official Watch Dogs: Legion website to explain the situation.

"As part of our commitment to fixing the game’s issues, we’ve decided to delay the Online mode of Watch Dogs: Legion to early 2021. This will allow us to focus on fixing issues with single player, and it will give us more time to test the online experience to help ensure a smooth launch of the mode.”

With that said, however, the game is getting Update 2.20 on PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and Stadia this week. It will add the much-needed manual Save Game option in addition to a variety of stability fixes for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 4, respectively. There's a more detailed list of patch notes that can be found here.

There are additional quality of life improvements set to be made next month as well, including additional graphical optimization and stability enhancement for PC. This is being done in a bid to reach a more consistent 60 fps goal for those with higher end GPUs.

far-cry-6-release-date-set-for-may-26th

Far Cry 6 was recently delayed (alongside Rainbow Six: Quarantine) out of its previously scheduled launch day of February 18th, 2021, with Ubisoft citing the pandemic related production issues as the main cause for it, but a new Far Cry 6 release date has just 'leaked' through the Xbox Store.

The official listing of the game now mentions May 26th, 2021, as the updated Far Cry 6 release date. Of course, this cannot be considered as confirmed before Ubisoft says so, but the Xbox Store has long been a reliable source for game release dates.

Far Cry 6 will feature high-profile actor Giancarlo Esposito as the game's villain, Anton Castillo. The fictional island of Yara, inspired by Cuba, will be the 'largest playground' yet seen in a Far Cry game.

Welcome to Yara, a tropical paradise frozen in time. As the dictator of Yara, Anton Castillo is intent on restoring his nation back to its former glory by any means, with his son, Diego, following in his bloody footsteps. Their ruthless oppression has ignited a revolution.

At the launch of next-gen consoles, players will instantly be able to enjoy the graphical enhancements that Ghost Recon Breakpoint has to offer, with multiple options for prioritizing either performance or resolution:

Xbox Series S will run the game in 1440P at 30FPS at all times.

EASILY TRANSITION TO NEXT-GEN AND KEEP YOUR PROGRESSION

If you currently own a copy of Ghost Recon Breakpoint on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, your profile including all purchases and inventory items will automatically be accessible on the corresponding next-gen console (PS4 with PS5 / Xbox One with Xbox Series X|S).

After the issues behind the launch last year, Ubisoft kept working on the latest Ghost Recon game to improve it.

In addition to several new content drops (including one Splinter Cell themed mission), the developers added back AI teammates in Ghost Recon Breakpoint, improved performance on PC thanks to the Vulkan API, and most recently released the 'Ghost Experience' update which significantly made stealth gameplay more meaningful as detailed below.

This update brings significant improvements to the stealth playstyle, aiming to ease stealth exploration and cover multiple game systems.

While undetected, players will now be able to deal increased damage to both drones and NPCs. This excludes heavy NPCs as they are equipped with heavy armor.

You’ll also see enemies running out of ammo and reloading – this will apply to all enemies with ASRs. This opens additional possibilities for you and your squad to launch counter attacks and adjust your strategy. We have also rebalanced the detection time and radio communication time to allow you to react to enemy tactics. Additionally, we have reduced the enemy mortar strike accuracy when you are detected.

As for drones, many changes have been applied to their detection and destruction behaviour. Changes include, but are not limited to, reduced investigation movement speed, new vertical destruction trajectory, reduced destruction sound, more pauses between attacks, and no more erratic hit animations, among other changes.
